Interhotel Sandanski is situated in the town of Sandanski, 160 km south of Sofia, on the main road E 79. Since times immemorial this part of Bulgaria has been known for its generous nature, miraculous climate and healing mineral water springs and it is no wonder that the previous name of Sandanski means Saint Healers. The town is situated in the warmest and sunniest region of Bulgaria. Under the influence of the Mediterranean climate spring comes early and winter is mild.

Interhotel Sandanski is situated at the foot of the Pirin Mountain in a marvelous park area with hundreds of tree species, playgrounds for children and a picturesque lake. Interhotel Sandanski has a capacity of accommodating over 570 guests in 181 standard rooms, 82 luxury rooms, 8 Junior Suites, 11 Standard Suites and 3 Luxury Suites. Some of the rooms have special flooring for asthmatics and others are accessible for disabled people. Restaurant Sandanski is with a capacity of 320 seats. The breakfast is served on buffet at “Restaurant Sandanski”. Serving typical national as well as international dishes.
Traditional restaurant “Mehana Sandanski” will give you a taste of the traditional Bulgarian Cuisine. It has 120 seats.
Restaurant “Fish & Barbeque” has 80 seats and offers a various specialties of Bulgarian and Mediterranean cuisine.
The Piano Bar entertains its visitors with interesting effects and is avalable every evening.
The Vienna Café has its own pastry specialties and breezy terrace for the hot days.
The Day bar and the Pool Bar offer refreshing drinks and cocktails.

BUSINESS AND CONFERENCES

Interhotel-Sandanski-Bulgaria is also known for organizing congresses and conference meetings, business lunches, official ceremonies and other business events.
The Big Conference Hall has 80-220 seats, depending on the arrangement of the seats. Blue Hall has 50-80 seats and Red Hall has up to 40 seats. The halls are arranged upon the client’s request. The technical equipment includes microphones, flip chart, multimedia and screen.

ATTRACTIONS CLOSE BY

The town-museum Melnik is situated in the middle of unique for Bulgaria sand pyramids. The smallest town in the country is famous for the charming wine made there and the cool cellars and taverns. The Rhozen Monastery, built in the XIII century is situated in the sandy hills above Melnik and you can go there by car or even climb up the echo-path.

The biggest monastery in Bulgaria is the Rila Monastery. It is situated 1147 meters above sea level in the Rila Mountain - the highest mountain on the Balkans. Surrounded by 24 meter-high stone walls, with more than 300 cells and stretching over 8800 square meters, the monastery attracts tourists from all around the world.

Near by are the healing mineral waters of Rupite springs, right in the middle of the ruins of an old volcano, just about 15 kilometers away from Sandanski. The church of the famous Bulgarian prophet Vanga is built in this mystique place, surrounded by the ancient crater.

The first artificial red courts in Eastern Europe are built in Bulgaria, Sandanski and are property of Interhotel Sandanski.

New tennis complex with artificial red courts was opend on September 29 2008 at Interhotel Sandanski, Bulgaria. These are the first courts of this type not only in Bulgaria but in Eastern Europe aswel.

The main advantages of this flooring is that it is easy to maintain, lack of bumps and any irregularities and does not freez during the winter. This characteristics make the complex usable from March to November. This flooring is almost the same as for the French Open tournament Grand Slam in Roland Garros Paris.

The executive director of Interhotel Sandanski Nikolay Tomov expressed his hope that the new tennis complex will grow into a tennis center of Bulgaria and later on for the Balkan Penninsula and Europe.

From September 30 2008 to October 5 2008 tennis complex at Interhotel Sandanski hosted the international woman's tournament with $10 000 prize fund.  7 Bulgarians enrolled in the base of "Interhotel Sandanski Cup" - Elitsa Kostova, Dia Evtimova, Bilyana Pavlova, Hyulia Velieva, Desislava Mladenova, Dalia Zafirova, Tanya Germanlieva. In the qualifications will compete 5 more Bulgarians - Jaquelin Alaui, Martina Gledacheva, Lyutfia Velieva, Liana Todorova and Anita Paliiska.

Interesting fact is that the winner will be awarded with a special gold medal which will be the first such award in Bulgarian tennis history.

On 3. 4 and 5 of October 2008 also took place the traditional tournament for journalists "Media Masters".
